We’re taking a stand on the issue of plastic

On September 29, it’s that time of year again. The nonprofit organization everwave is calling on people, as part of its ongoing campaign, to address the pollution of rivers and oceans and to get involved in creating a better future. And because fighting plastic in the ocean is a worthy cause, the BLACKROLL® team is passionately joining in, just as we do every year. Of course, we’re well aware that most of our fascia tools are made of plastic. But it’s precisely this awareness that leads us to ensure, for example, that the EPP used in our fascia rollers and balls is composed of 96% air and only 4% plastic.

We’re constantly working to further increase the recycled content of our products and are evaluating ways to close the raw material loop ourselves as a company.

AVOID WASTE BY NOT SELLING WASTE.

The quality of our products has been our top priority since the very beginning of our company’s history . Every product is carefully thought out from every angle. That’s why our fascia products aren’t made from just any disposable plastic—the kind used to make plastic bottles or bags that can only be used once. On the contrary, most of our fascia products are made from the high-tech plastic EPP. This ensures that a fascia roller can be used for up to 20 years. That’s why, with BLACKROLL® products, you can always count on receiving durable, top-notch quality that’s designed to never end up as plastic waste in the ocean—if at all possible.

THE OCEAN PLAYS A HUGE ROLE FOR ME.

Let’s be honest, most people think, “What does a foam roller like this have to do with the ocean?” And in principle, they’re right, of course—it has nothing to do with it. But still, it’s incredibly important to us that, if at all possible, it never ends up in the ocean. That’s why it’s manufactured to retain its value and be fully reusable. All of this is just as important to us as the fact that you always stay nice and relaxed.

BOTTOM LINE: TRASH DOESN’T RELIEVE TENSION.

You can look at it any way you want. But a fascia ball—and BLACKROLL® products in general—are designed to improve people’s lives. Trash in the ocean, however, does exactly the opposite. That’s why we at BLACKROLL® do everything we possibly can to produce as little waste as possible.

A fascia ball, for example, lasts nearly 20 years on average and is made from EPP, a high-tech plastic that’s fully recyclable.

This means it’s highly unlikely to ever become a problem in the ocean.

FOR ME, ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION IS BY NO MEANS A FLEXIBLE CONCEPT.

When it comes to our fitness bands, we at BLACKROLL® have a very specific vision regarding sustainability.

All of our bands are made from 100% recycled polyester derived from plastic bottles.

The rubber is a natural material. Furthermore, we manufacture our bands exclusively in Germany to ensure a low carbon footprint.

OUR EARTH ISN’T FLAT.

Everything is connected. And we know that. That’s why we at BLACKROLL® take responsibility for the carbon footprint of all products made from EPP plastic, including our training bands, as well as for our company locations in Switzerland and Australia.
