Track and Field for Your Ears: The Mainathlet Podcast by Benjamin Brömme
Exciting guests and conversations all about track and field—not just during the 2022 European Championships.
We have a sports podcast recommendation for you: Benjamin Brömme, based in Frankfurt am Main—known as the “Mainathlet”—hosts a very cool and interesting track and field podcast. The former sprinter talks with athletes from various disciplines, with active and former coaches, as well as with experts whose insights offer valuable content—ranging from health to recovery. Of course, the focus is always on sports, but there’s also plenty of personal insight.
Here at BLACKROLL®, we’re currently in the thick of track and field fever, as we’re supporting the 2022 European Championships in Munich as the “Official Recovery Supplier.”
At major events like these, track and field finally gets the attention it deserves—but without the Olympics, World Championships, or European Championships, it unfortunately always remains in the shadow of many other sports. “Completely unfair!” thought Benjamin Brömme, and so he became a pioneer of sorts by launching the first German-language podcast dedicated specifically to track and field. And for the people who deliver top performances day in and day out: the athletes, coaches, recovery experts, and many more. The diverse mix of his guests makes his podcast very interesting for all sports enthusiasts, but especially for all track and field fans!
By the way: Our BLACKROLL® Education Manager, Stefan Schneider, has also been a guest on Benjamin’s show.

First a track and field athlete, then a main athlete:
How Benjamin Brömme Got His Start with His Podcast
Benjamin competed as a 100- and 200-meter sprinter for over ten years, representing LG Eintracht Frankfurt, LG Wetzlar, and TV Elz. In both disciplines, he qualified for the finals at the German Championships once each and was also invited to many other track and field meets.
After retiring from competitive sports, he increasingly noticed that there was a podcast for almost every sport, but none dedicated to track and field. He wanted to change that!
Since 2019, Benjamin has been bringing his personal experience and palpable passion for track and field to every podcast episode. The podcast’s name, “Mainathlet,” blends his roots as a native of Frankfurt am Main with his career as an athlete.
Since he knows many active and former athletes personally—and is friends with some of them—he not only reports on and interviews people about major sporting events but also offers his followers great insights, topics, and guests throughout the year.
Feel free to follow Benjamin—just like we do—on Spotify, YouTube, and Instagram.
Enjoy the Mainathlet podcast!
