FAQ
The BLACKROLL® Recovery Pillow KIDS is recommended for children ages 4 and up. By this age, the muscles and spine are sufficiently developed for an ergonomic pillow to effectively support sleep.
Important: The pillow is not suitable for children under 4 years of age. In particular, the typical sleeping position on the stomach with the buttocks tucked under is a sign that a pillow is not yet needed.
There is no exact upper age limit, as growth and body development vary greatly from child to child at a young age—especially before and during puberty. As a general guideline, we recommend using it until around 10–12 years of age, depending on the child’s physical development.
- Size: The KIDS Pillow is flatter (50 × 30 × 6 cm) and adapted to children’s proportions. It features the same ergonomic shape as the original pillow—but with a reduced height.
- Design: Special cover with rainbow piping—friendly, unisex, high-quality
Yes—but with some limitations:
For children who sleep in the classic stomach position with their bottom facing up, no pillow is recommended.
For older children who sleep flat on their stomachs or on their side or back, the flat design is ideal.
Tip: Make sure the spine stays straight in the prone position—not overextended.
- Cover: Washable at 40 °C
- Foam core: The foam core is not washable.
We recommend that parents check their child’s position as they fall asleep:
Back and stomach positions: The head is centered in the indentation, with the chin neither tilted downward nor backward.
Side position: The head and shoulders form a straight line, without any bending.
That’s normal—especially at a young age. The pillow provides support whenever it’s used.
Yes, it’s important to note: “Keep away from heat or fire sources.”
Many children (and parents, too) are used to traditional, flat pillows. That’s why the ergonomic head and neck contour of the RECOVERY PILLOW KIDS sometimes feels “different” during the first few nights. The contour ensures that the head is gently centered and the neck is supported in a natural, straight position. Precisely because this shape actively stabilizes the body, it sometimes takes a few nights to get used to it. Children usually adapt very quickly to new sleeping environments.
The low height was chosen deliberately. At its deepest point, the pillow is only 2 cm high to ensure that the neck isn’t overextended and the spine remains in a natural alignment. It’s especially important for children that their heads aren’t elevated too high. The indentation ensures that the head is centered and that the neck and spine form a straight line.
